Hamad Bakr

Hamad Bakr, also known as Rebwar or Qalati, was born in Kirkuk, Iraq, on 02 January 1977. He was a member of Rawti Shax based in the United Kingdom, actively engaged in proselytism and radicalization aimed at recruiting individuals for jihad in Kurdistan. He frequently participated in the “Kurdistan Kurd u Islam” chatroom on Paltalk, where he primarily operated online to promote extremist ideology.
He was involved in continuous efforts to radicalize Muslims, exposing them to graphic jihadist audio and video materials designed to instil anti-Western and antisemitic sentiments, leading them toward fundamentalist positions. His goal was to recruit new members, foster a commitment to martyrdom, and convince them to engage in jihad. He received and shared jihadist propaganda, maintained ties with individuals involved in terrorism, and praised their actions. He actively supported violent operations, including kidnappings and attacks in Europe and against Western interests in the Middle East, with the additional aim of securing Mullah Krekar’s release from prison.
He expressed the willingness to become a martyr and was determined to engage in jihad on a global scale, particularly in Syria, on behalf of Rawti Shax. He was convicted of terrorism to 7 years and 6 months by the Court of Trento.

On December 2025, he was jailed by UK Court for two years and three months for returning to the UK illegally in a small boat on 19 September 2025. Hamad Bakr first came to the UK in 2001 and was given indefinite leave to remain. In 2019 he was convicted in his absence by an Italian court of terrorism offences and was extradited to Italy to serve his sentence in 2020. After serving his sentence in Italy, Hamad Bakr said he was told to leave the country in seven days. He applied for a UK visa but this was refused so he paid 1,200 Euros for a place on a small boat. The small boat was intercepted by a RNLI lifeboat off the coast of Dover. When he was interviewed by immigration officers at Margate police station a few days later he declined to comment.
