Assala Lakbiri

Assala Lakbiri is a translator and interpreter proficient in Italian, German, English, and Arabic, specializing in geopolitics within the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Her expertise encompasses religious fundamentalism, radicalization processes, and proactive prevention efforts. Assala earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Cologne in ‘Languages and Cultures of the Islamic World’ and ‘English Studies,’ and completed a master’s degree from the University of Bonn in ‘Arabic Studies and Translation.’
Currently, Assala works as an educational consultant, focusing on the ‘Re:vision’ prevention project funded by the federal program ‘Demokratie Leben!’ within the justice system of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW). This project is dedicated to preventing radicalization associated with specific phenomena and operates in both primary and secondary prevention initiatives.
