Djebari Chokri
Djebari Chokri was born in Tunis on January 31, 1976. At the time of the investigation he was living in Brescia. He was one of the members of a network highly active in the procurement of false documents, that had also ties to the management of an extremist paramilitary training camp in Afghanistan. Among the members of this network, some had direct links to the Armed Islamic Group.
Djebari was connected with Dah Dah (alias for Essaadi Moussa), who was highly active in the Naples area to procure forged documents. Numerous calls in the months of January and February 1998 testify to Djebari’s effort to procure false documents with the help of Dah Dah. On January 15, Dah Dah also mentioned that he would have to retrieve some of the documents from Zoache Abdellatif, another individual of the network found in the investigation of the Italian authorities. In a call with Zoache, Dah Dah also confirmed that the standard practice would be to send the documents to the client by mail, likely to avoid their discovery during police checks when coming back from Naples.
In April 1998, Djebari tells Dah Dah that he had found a few cars with a good price; while unclear, other members of the network (including Dah Dah) have fenced stolen cars.
The recorded calls proved Djebari’s involvement in the subversive extremist network, so the Bologna Court requested his arrest in March 2000. As for his last proceeding, he was effectively arrested.
