Riyad Albustanji

Riyad Abdelrahim Jaber Albustanji, born on November 16, 1965, in Jordan, is considered a member of the foreign branch of the terrorist organization Hamas and is steadily integrated into the operational network linked to Mohammad Hannoun, within which he carries out activities related to fundraising and the movement of funds.

He has been employed by the Associazione Benefica di Solidarietà con il Popolo Palestinese (ABSPP ODV) since February 1, 2015, and actively participates in initiatives promoted by the structure. He takes part in fundraising during meetings and religious sermons and personally handles the transfer of funds abroad, which, according to investigative findings, are destined for the financing of Hamas.

The individual lives between Italy, Norway, where he is officially resident, and Jordan, maintaining constant mobility that is functional to his associative and fundraising activities. Over time, he has contributed to the transfer of significant amounts, although these remain below the total sum of €7,288,248.15 attributed to the network.

Fundraising activities are mainly carried out during sermons and religious gatherings held in Italy, where he actively promotes donations. Through his social media channels, including TikTok, he disseminates content related to fundraising activities, reaching a significant audience and declaring his willingness to transport funds abroad.

On several occasions, he has personally transferred funds collected in mosques or during public events, taking on a direct operational role in the handling of money flows.

His integration into the network is also evidenced by an interview dating back to 2012, attended by Hannoun, during which he stated that he had met Ismail Haniyeh together with Hannoun and had visited his home. In that context, he referred to Haniyeh using expressions such as “our commander” and “our emir,” and expressed views supporting martyrdom in the name of Islam, indicating close ideological alignment with the movement.

Albustanji also demonstrated ideological support for the events of October 7, 2023, through social media posts, particularly on his Facebook profile, where he expressed approval of the attack carried out by Hamas. Additional elements include a photograph depicting him in military attire, armed with a rocket launcher and associated with symbols of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, surrounded by armed individuals linked to the organization.

Following Operation “Dominio” in 2025, he was placed under precautionary measures within the criminal proceedings initiated against him. However, in April 2026, the Supreme Court annulled the relevant order with referral, ordering a new review by the competent tribunal.
